Hi, my name is Grace Cupat and I wanted to share with you my story and the inspiration for ViaSkill. I’ve been in the software development and web design industry for over two decades, and along the way, I’ve had the privilege of mentoring and coaching aspiring designers, UX/UI specialists, and software engineers. I’ve always felt a strong desire to give back to a field that has been such a big part of my life. Unlike many, I didn’t have guidance when I first started out, and it was tough. That’s why I’ve dedicated myself to helping others navigate their own journeys—because I believe in the power of finding your passion in tech.

Throughout my career, I’ve worn many hats—from designer to software engineer to leadership roles—and yet, even with all of this experience, landing my dream job was never easy. Writing a resume that accurately captured everything I had done always felt like an impossible task. And as Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) became more prevalent, it felt like a new barrier was being put in place. The frustration of knowing I had the skills but still struggling to get my resume seen pushed me to a breaking point.

I realized I wasn’t alone in this struggle. I knew others, like me, were talented, driven, and skilled in their craft but still found it challenging to present those skills in a way that resonated with the hiring process. 

ViaSkill was born from a deep frustration with how careers are managed, how talent is overlooked, and how individuals are forced to navigate a system that often fails to see their full potential.

I’ve been there—undervalued, underestimated, and stuck in environments that didn’t recognize what I could bring to the table. Instead of staying trapped in frustration, I chose to act. When one company didn’t appreciate my worth, I pursued an MBA. When another failed to recognize my contributions, I earned a second degree in Computer Science. Now, I’m building ViaSkill—a platform that ensures no one else has to feel like their career is left to chance or dependent on the short-sightedness of an employer.

ViaSkill is more than a tool—it’s a movement. It’s about empowering professionals to take control of their careers, to track their growth, and to be seen for who they truly are. No more outdated resumes, no more overlooked potential, no more waiting for someone else to define your worth. ViaSkill gives individuals the power to shape their own careers—on their terms.
